About.

Director.

Informed by a lifelong theatrical background, I’ve developed a multidisciplinary "Afro-Spective" approach that integrates music, movement, and memories into narrative and experience design, creating immersive storytelling that transcends realism and conventional forms. Recently commissioned by the Black Cultural Archives, my adaptation and direction of Una Marson's play "Pocomania" earned acclaim at Theatre Peckham, London (2023). Other notable works include co-creating and show-running "Call Me Back," an anthological radio drama series on Gold Dust and Spotify. My directorial ventures extend to campaigns and commercials, and my inaugural film "An American Street Mural In Harlem" garnered a Best First Time Director nomination and won Best Documentary Short at the New York International Film Awards (2021). The film premiered at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (2022) and had a theatrical release at the Magic Johnson AMC Cinema in New York (2022).

Scriptwriter.

My “Afro-Spectives” are multi-form projects that include blended dramas, crime thrillers, musicals, visual choreo-poetry installations, and hybrid documentaries, delving into the intricate tapestry of the past and present. Incorporating Dr. Joy DeGruy's theory on PTSS, my work offers nuanced characterizations of Black protagonists, navigating our experiences with authenticity and empathy, rooted in a rich cultural heritage and contemporary research. Screenplays including "Finding Harlem: The Savoy" and "For Little Girls" have received festival recognition and acclaim and are currently in development. I’m a proud NYU alum, recipient of the HB Studios Christina Kukucka Playwriting Scholarship, and an MA Scriptwriting graduate from Goldsmiths, University of London.
